Who we hire

Personality first. We can teach the camera. We can’t teach someone how to not be awkward at a big event.

Who we hire. Who we don’t.

We hire

  • Charismatic people with high, sustained energy.
  • People who like people. Kind, respectful, helpful.
  • Coachable. Self-motivated learners.
  • “Send-done” people: ask once, it gets done, they tell you when it’s done.
  • People who’ve done it before and own the outcome.

We don’t hire

  • People who default to complaining.
  • People who need babysitting.
  • People who keep making the same mistake.
  • People who can’t handle their current responsibilities.
  • Awkward hosts. An unhosted booth beats an awkward host.

The roles

  1. Portrait Booth HostRun the experience. Welcome guests, bring the energy, deliver the photos.
  2. Portrait & Headshot PhotographerStudio lighting, high volume, instant delivery. Loud rooms and long days.
  3. Roaming PhotographerWork the room. Posed groups with flash. A different job from event photography.
  4. Video CrewEvent impact and highlight videos with same-day edits.
  5. Delivery & InstallersDrop-off booths, set up clean.
  6. Booking & CoordinationInbound calls, planning, staffing, run of show.

How we pay

  • Every rate agreed in writing before your first event.
  • Hosts: $25/hr while you train, $35/hr once you can host on your own.
  • Portrait photographers: $600 per half day, $1,200 per day. Roaming: $400 for 3 hours of shooting.
  • Travel days on fly-in events $250. Driving to events $25/hr plus fuel. Lodging booked for you, meals reimbursed.
  • Send us an event that books: $50 per booked event, paid when it books. Share your personal link.
  • Paid every two weeks through Gusto. College students welcome; we pay for outcomes.
  • Proactive raises for agreed behaviors, practiced every day.

What you get

  • Events you would not otherwise get into.
  • All the equipment. We bring the kit.
  • Photographers: we’re your booking agent. We handle the clients, contracts, invoices, and logistics. You show up and do great work.
  • Photographers are promoted by name. Clients can book you specifically.
  • A small, tight-knit team. Limited spots, like a sports team.
  • Coaching toward where you want to be next.

At the event, you’re Mammoth.

Photographers keep their own business. Solo headshots and studio work are yours. Live, high-paced event work runs through Mammoth, and if a guest asks, that’s what you tell them.

What we’ll ask you

  • What do you do for fun?
  • How are you working on yourself?
  • What’s really important to you right now, personally and professionally?
  • Fast forward 18 months. How do you want to feel? How have you grown?
  • What keeps you going when it gets hard? Because this is still work.

We have high standards. You’re agreeing to live up to them.

Mutual agreement. Shared commitment. Everyone signs The Standard.
