What we collect

We collect two kinds of information: what you give us directly, and what’s gathered automatically as you browse.

Information you give us. When you fill out an inquiry form, request a quote, or email us, we collect the details you choose to share — typically your name, email address, company or organization, and information about your event (such as dates, location, type of event, and what you’re looking for). If we move forward together, we may also collect details needed to plan and deliver the work.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic technical and usage data — things like your browser type, device, approximate location, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. We also record anonymous session replays, with everything you type masked out. None of it sets a cookie; the section on analytics below spells out exactly what happens.

How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiry and prepare a written quote.
• Plan, schedule, and deliver the photography and media work you book with us.
• Communicate with you about your project, including follow-ups and delivery of finished media.
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• Meet our legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use your inquiry details for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Sharing and third parties

We share information only as needed to run our business and deliver your work. That can include trusted service providers who act on our behalf — for example, email and form providers, cloud storage and delivery platforms, analytics tools, payment processors, and our own crew of photographers, videographers, and producers staffed to your event. These partners may only use the information to perform services for us.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Mammoth, our clients, or others. If our business is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Analytics and session recording

We set no cookies for analytics. That’s why there’s no cookie banner on this site — there’s nothing to ask you to accept.

We use a product called PostHog to see which pages people visit and to record browsing sessions, so we can find what’s broken or confusing and fix it. A recording is what the page looked like and where the pointer went. Everything you type into a form — your name, email, phone number, the details of your event — is hidden from those recordings and never leaves your browser as part of one. We don’t attach a name to a visitor, and we don’t build a profile of anyone browsing the site.

Instead of a cookie, PostHog keeps a random visitor id in your browser’s own storage. Clearing your site data removes it. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, none of this runs at all: no recording, no page tracking, nothing loaded.

Our host, Cloudflare, also counts page views in a way that sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you. And when something on the site throws an error, we log the error itself so we can fix it.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to do what this policy describes — to respond to your inquiry, deliver and support your project, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Finished media and project records may be retained so we can re-deliver files and reference past work. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain uses. You can also opt out of non-essential emails at any time by replying or using the unsubscribe link.

To make a request, use our contact form. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children’s privacy

The site is written for the people who book us — companies, couples, and hosts — and isn’t directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. We do, of course, photograph events where minors may be present — that work is governed by our agreement and any releases for each booking, not by this website policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the law change. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
