Making a career

We hire personality and teach the setup. Then we tell you exactly what the next step is.

Clear growth tracks.

One of our hiring principles, and it only counts if it’s written down. Here it is.

The host track

Two levels, no in-between.

  1. Host, training · $25 / hrTraining videos, a hands-on studio day, then ten events with a lead. Paid from day one.
  2. Host, trained · $35 / hrYou can set up, troubleshoot, and host a room on your own. Charismatic, kind, calm under stress, and you know the camera and lighting well enough to make people look great. On a two-person team, the trained host coaches the host in training.

The photographer track

Mammoth is your booking agent. We handle the clients, the contracts, and the logistics. You show up and shoot.

  1. Roaming photographer · $400 / 3 hrsPosed groups with flash, delivered to guests in real time. Longer nights quoted per event.
  2. Portrait & headshot photographer · $600 half day, $1,200 dayRun a full portrait studio with our kit and our lighting, under your name. Setup and pack-down included.
  3. Travel days · $250For fly-in events: a day of travel with no shooting. Driving to an event is $25 / hr plus fuel, not a travel day. Lodging booked, meals reimbursed.

What moves you up

  • Only say yes to an event you’re certain you can make, drive time included.
  • Reply to team messages the same day, within 24 hours at most.
  • Clean setups, every time. Photo and video of the finished room.
  • Sign The Standard and live it. You are only as good as your worst team member.

Core team seats are real jobs.

Sales, event coordination, equipment, graphics, client nurturing. When a seat opens, it opens to the people already on the team first.
