Autodesk University 2022

What we did

Autodesk University 2022 ran September 27 through 29 in New Orleans. It was our first AU, and the first time we ran the beam.

The beam photo op

George P. Johnson, the agency producing Autodesk's space at the show, designed the set: a steel beam in front of a wide city skyline, with the Autodesk Construction Cloud logo in the corner of every photo. They wanted it in black and white, so every photo came out that way.

Guests climbed up and sat on the beam. Some brought hard hats and safety vests, some put their legs in the air, some lined up the whole team. Photos went to phones by QR code right at the booth.

We set up on Sunday, two days before the show floor opened, and kept two hosts on the booth all three days, with a third rotating in for breaks and rushes.

What came next

Autodesk took the beam on the road to World of Concrete and CONEXPO-CON/AGG in 2023. At AU 2023 in Las Vegas it came back as a 3D illusion mural over the Las Vegas skyline, next to our RADiCAL video activation. At AU 2024 in San Diego we ran the Wonder Dynamics red carpet video booth.
