Onsite Install Tech
Deliver, install, and pick up portrait booths and custom photo ops. Set it up clean, test it, and make sure the tech works before you leave.
- Where
- Detroit office and Howell studio, venues across Michigan.
- When
- Deliveries and pickups around event schedules. Some evenings and weekends.
What you’ll do
- Load, deliver, and install booths and photo ops exactly to spec: distance, angle, cables, power, internet.
- Test the full experience on site and take a photo and video of the finished setup.
- Leave a support number, then pick it up and put it back where it lives, clean.
- Flag anything broken, low, or dirty so the next person never inherits your mess.
Who you are
- Handy, tidy, and careful with expensive gear.
- Dressed to belong at the event when you install. Arriving before guests, all black is good. If guests will be there, come dressed. You can switch shoes once you’re done setting up. No hoodies at black tie.
- Valid license, reliable vehicle, able to lift 80 lbs.
Not for you if
- You’re fine with “close enough.”
- You don’t check your work before you leave.
What it pays
- $150 per event: set up, pick up, active gallery monitoring, on-call support, and staying near the event.
- Hourly for full installs and custom builds, in writing before you start.

How hiring works
The full process- Step 1
Apply
Fill out the short form on the role you want. Tell us where you’re based, when you’re available, and what you do for fun. Photographers: send your work. We reply to every applicant.
- Step 2
Phone screen
A real conversation, not a script. What do you do now and why? Why us? When are you available, and how far will you travel?
- Step 3
References
If we like the conversation we ask for three references from current or past coworkers, and we actually call them: what was it like to work with you, and would they hire you again?
- Step 4
Offer in writing
Role, responsibilities, and pay rate, in writing.
- Step 5
Onboarding and training
Paid training: the videos, a quiz and a hands-on day at the studio. You read and sign The Standard before your first event.
- Step 6
Shadow an event
Work an event as an apprentice.
- Step 7
Work
First event, then the next.
