Mammoth
The Pink Panther and a guest posing at the Owens Corning booth at IBS 2026

Why Mammoth

Anyone can point a camera. We’re different.

Weighing us against a photo booth, a freelance photographer, or an AI app? Fair. They’re not the same job.

How we compare

The usual vs. Mammoth

Getting your photos
Typically

Days to weeks for the gallery, or a rush fee just to see anything inside 72 hours.

With Mammoth

On your guests’ phones in seconds. Your gallery fills in real time, and the full gallery is there the same day.

What guests get
Typically

A box and a curtain running the same template all night.

With Mammoth

A designed, branded moment guests actually want to post, not a photo booth.

Real or generated
Typically

An AI app renders a face that never stood in the room.

With Mammoth

Real portraits, real light, real people. The part they remember.

The gear
Typically

Rentals billed back to you, or whatever’s bolted into the booth.

With Mammoth

Pro cameras and lighting we own, shipped with the crew. No rental line.

What it costs
Typically

“Contact us for pricing,” and extras that only show up on the invoice.

With Mammoth

A published rate card. Travel quoted up front.

Who shows up
Typically

Whoever happens to be free that day.

With Mammoth

Experienced crews, and you can request a specific photographer.

Everything in the Mammoth lane comes standard, not as an upsell.

Booth, photographer, or app?

What you’re choosing

Each of these is good at one thing.

A typical photo-booth rental

Great for a quick laugh and a printed strip on the way out.

Where it stops short

It’s one box running one template. No crew reading the room, no portrait worth reposting — and the fun ends when the line does.

A hired event photographer

Real photography, often excellent — a proper set of images after the fact.

Where it stops short

You’re usually waiting days for the gallery, there’s no guest-facing moment on the floor, and same-day turnaround is a premium add-on.

AI photo generators & apps

Quick, cheap, and genuinely fun to play with.

Where it stops short

It’s a render, not a memory. Nobody was actually there — and “you had to be there” is the whole point of a real event photo.

Mammoth does both at once: the instant fun of a booth and the craft of a real photographer, delivered to every guest while the room is still full.

The short version

Not all booths are equal.

Two cars can both get you to work. One’s an economy rental; the other is the one people stop to look at in the parking lot. Both are technically “a car.” Nobody confuses them.

Event media works the same way. When a quote comes in lower, it’s usually quoting a different job.

Straight answers

Common questions

Why does Mammoth cost more than a photo-booth rental?

Because it’s a different job.

  • Experienced crews and pro gear we own and bring.
  • Real portraits on guests’ phones in seconds.
  • The photos are handled, so you can enjoy your own event.
  • Our rates are standard and published.

Do you use AI to make the photos?

No. Every photo starts as a real portrait of a real person in the room.

  • Real light and real people are the part guests remember.
  • Some clients want an AI background or look on top of that portrait, like Dykema’s centennial. That is a custom build, quoted per event.

Isn’t “instant delivery” just a printed photo strip?

No.

  • Each guest gets their own portrait on their phone in seconds.
  • Your team gets the gallery link before the event, photos arrive in it in real time, and the full gallery is there the same day.
  • Prints are an enhancement, not the delivery.

Will you price-match a cheaper quote?

No. Our rates are standard and in writing.

  • A lower number is usually a smaller job: fewer crew, rented gear, slower delivery.
  • The right fit is the team that shows up and delivers, not the cheapest one.
